Corporate boards lack diversity, study finds

Nov 22, 2010 |

Last month, a survey by the Canadian Board Diversity Council found that for every ten Board Directors of a large Canadian company, only one is a visible minority.

“We have smart, highly-skilled energetic diverse talent. Why wouldn’t companies want to have these valuable insights as part of their strategic decision-making? We are missing out huge opportunities.” – Pamela Jeffery, Founder of the Canadian Board Diversity Council

Read about these findings in the Toronto Star or the Globe and Mail, or read the Canadian Board Diversity Council’s 2010 Annual Report Card.

Launched in 2009, the Canadian Board Diversity Council seeks to improve diversity on Financial Post 500 companies in addition to federal agencies, boards, commissions and crown corporations. Find out more about this organization at www.boarddiversity.ca.
