Gordon Nixon and Zabeen Hirji on building a business case for diversity

Jun 3, 2010 | ,

Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) recently won the Catalyst Award for its innovative organizational approach to increasing the representation of visible minorities and other diverse groups at the management level. In this exclusive interview with the Financial Post, RBC President and CEO Gord Nixon and Chief Human Resources Officer Zabeen Hirji explain the motivation and drive behind RBC’s success.

Congratulations to RBC!

Mr. Nixon noted that the bank looks “at diversity through two different lenses. From an ethical perspective, it’s extremely important and it’s the right thing to do, but it also represents incredible business potential. To ignore the value offered by this huge part of Canada’s workforce and potential client base is a missed business opportunity.”
