“At age 16, I was running an organization of 60 young people. I had executive team of 7. I had no leadership experience prior to that, and I just had to run with it.
One of the things that I learned was that leadership is ageless. Anybody can be a leader. It doesn’t matter what age, it doesn’t matter what their background is. They can be a leader. All they need is a conduit or somebody to pull it out of them and believe in them. When I see a young person that’s full of life and full of potential, I always ask them, what are your goals?, where do you want to go?, what are some of the things that you want to do?, and we work on that. We work on their strengths and we create projects that allow them to shine.”
