Leadership is developed through practice

Christy Luo, Power Unit Youth Organization

Believe in young leaders’ potential and give them ownership over projects.   Provide the next generation with role models and leaders they can aspire to become.

“I’ve noticed that it’s very important, for example in my organization, to have very close role models, people that you work with, people that you also respect who can talk with you and share their experience with you. I feel like growing up it was very difficult to have a role model that I could aspire to – someone who is a visible minority and female and not in the field of business. Growing up it was very difficult to know who I wanted to be like.”
